Low Carb Recipes A
special thanks to all those who have shared recipes! Most of
these recipes have been invented from scratch in a need-driven
environment. Many of them come from our Keto friends and will be
a great resource for Keto families. As you can probably guess,
one of the challenges with this therapy is the daily battle of keeping
our children happy with their food. Of course, the books in our recommended reading section also have a great number of recipes that are appropriate for this diet.
It has been our experience that variety helps cut down on the desire to 'cheat', it helps us to provide the needed fats to maintain ketosis. Variety also keeps our child from feeling left out, as she has 'special' treats made just for her. We have also found that today's favorite meal soon rotates out of favor. Happily, what was intolerable last month often becomes the new meal of choice! Our ebook, "Atkins for Seizures", has a section that includes most of Brooklyn's favorite recipes while on the Modified Atkins Diet for Seizures. I have specifically left the carb count out of these recipes.
There is simply too much variance in ingredients from brand to brand
and country to country. Parents will need to be vigilant in
reading labels, taking into consideration "hidden carbs" and adjusting
the portion sizes accordingly.
